Choose the key type for a plant's hosted OpenVPN server

When Mirox hosts an OpenVPN server for a plant, you now choose its "PKI key algorithm": "RSA-2048 (industrial standard)", which nearly every router accepts, or "ECDSA-P256 (modern)". On an existing server, "Rotate CA certificate" issues a new authority and new certificates for everyone connecting.

  • RSA-2048 is the default; pick it for a router that cannot import an elliptic-curve certificate.
  • After a rotation, every connecting site must install its new configuration file before it can reconnect.
  • The edit dialog shows which key type a server uses today.
