You now get a warning before an API token expires

You get a notice seven days before one of your API tokens expires, another when it expires, and one more when an application still tries to use it afterwards. Each notice names the token and points to your profile's "API Tokens" tab, where "Rotate API Token" issues a new secret.

  • A rotation notice tells you where the rotation came from and that the old secret no longer works.
  • You get the notice about an expired token in use at most once a day per token.
  • Rotating a token starts its notices over and marks earlier ones as read.
